#5 Kids Art Workshop @PB Public Elementary School

Trojan Rocking Horse's fifth art workshop for kids was held in a very colorful classroom, soaked in children's creativity at the Palm Beach Public Elementary School.

To kick-off this workshop's creative process, Finnish architect Marco Casagrande told the story of the ancient Greek myth about the Trojan horse on which the Trojan Rocking Horse project is based.

Together with Marco and local collage artist Mary Glazier, children dived into the world of imagination to create their own Trojan Rocking Horse and then fill it with their dreams about the city's future. In a short time, they traveled from past, through present to future, surfing on waves of creativity between imagination and reality.

In their vision for the future of the children they educate, the School District of Palm Beach County aims to encourage each student to develop a positive vision for their future and to be brought up with the joy of learning. Each student’s cultural heritage is valued, and their physical, emotional, academic, and social needs are met. The School District of Palm Beach County will provide each student – regardless of race, ethnicity, economic status, disability, national origin, religious affiliation, gender identity, or sexual orientation – access to any and all opportunities, resources, and support they need to develop agency, voice and achieve their dreams. These values resonate highly with the Trojan Rocking Horse project.

The workshop was held on Wednesday, January 18 2023, at the Palm Beach Public Elementary School.
