#6 Kids Art Workshop @PB Dramaworks

The sixth in the series of eight Trojan Rocking Horse art workshops for children took place at Palm Beach Dramaworks theatre with young participants coming from the Bilgrav School for Dyslexic Students.

All workshops in the series have been structured to start with a brief storytelling session where Finnish architect Marco Casagrande takes the kids 3000 years back in the past to ancient Greece and tells them the legend of the Trojan horse; then, he takes them back to present asking them to imagine what it might look like if they could build such a horse but fill it with their dreams about the future and send it to the city authorities.

A roller coaster of creativity unleashed when the kids got their hands on art supplies curated for this opportunity by the Resource Depot. Inspired by the stories, they began to explore, rip, snip, deconstruct and then synthesize their visions into the cardboard cut-outs of their Trojan Rocking Horses.

The workshop supports Bilgrav School's mission to provide opportunities for dyslexic students to reach their potential. With a rigorous, interdisciplinary, project-based curriculum designed for bright, multi-sensory learners that engage and focus on cognitive strengths, effectively remediates literacy skills, and builds lasting confidence – where children thrive, not simply survive

The workshop took place on Friday, January 20 2023 at Palm Beach Dramaworks
